    As a Civil Project Engineer, you will apply engineering principles to design and evaluate municipal infrastructure solutions, focusing on performance and life-cycle costs. You will assist in defining project scope, schedules, and budgets, and collect field data through site surveys and documentation. Your role will involve performing design tasks, developing drawings and models, and preparing reports and specifications.

    Responsibilities

    + Design and evaluate municipal infrastructure solutions.

    + Define project scope, schedules, and budgets.

    + Collect field data through site surveys and documentation.

    + Perform design tasks including hydraulic calculations and equipment selection.

    + Develop drawings and models using CAD/modeling tools.

    + Prepare or support creation of reports, specifications, and permit applications.

    + Provide construction-phase services and coordinate with stakeholders.

    + Maintain project documentation and draft correspondence.

    + Participate in project meetings and ensure clear communication with stakeholders.

    + Perform additional duties as assigned.

    Essential Skills

    + B.S. in Civil or Environmental Engineering.

    + EIT certification required; PE preferred or ability to sit for exam soon.

    + 4+ years of experience in municipal water resources design and construction.

    + Proficient in AutoCAD Civil 3D.

    + Strong written and verbal communication skills.

    + Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel to project sites.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + Familiarity with WaterCAD, SWMM, GIS preferred.

    + Knowledge of hydrologic/hydraulic modeling tools (HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS, XP-SWMM) desirable.

    Work Environment

    This position follows a hybrid work schedule with 3 days in the office and 2 days from home. You will be part of a team in the Oak Brook office, working on fast-moving municipal projects. The team collaborates with the transportation team and handles projects such as solar field developments, municipal facilities, and roadway rehabilitation. Opportunities to advance into a PM position are available. The team environment is collaborative, offering flexibility and work/life balance.

    This is a Permanent position based out of Villa Park, IL.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $85000.00 - $140000.00/yr.
