We are seeking a talented Design Engineer to join our team in developing innovative and high-quality parts and products. This role involves creating detailed CAD models, updating bills of materials, and managing engineering change orders. The focus will be on electrical and fluid/hose/cable reels, with potential travel to support an acquired company in Ames.
Responsibilities
+ Design and develop new parts and products.
+ Create and update bills of materials.
+ Manage engineering change orders.
+ Focus on CAD modeling and detailed drawings.
+ Work on electrical and fluid/hose/cable reels projects.
+ Collaborate with the engineering team to ensure successful project completion.
Essential Skills
+ Proficiency in 3D modeling and mechanical engineering.
+ Experience with SolidWorks or other CAD modeling software.
+ Familiarity with ERP systems, BOMs, and engineering change orders.
+ Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field, or an Associate's Degree with relevant experience.
+ A minimum of 2 years of experience in new product design and print updates.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Experience with product design and ERP systems.
+ Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
+ Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
Work Environment
The position is primarily desk-based, with 80-90% of work conducted at a desk and occasional travel, up to 10%, to Ames for shop floor tasks. The role offers a flexible schedule with hours from Monday to Friday, 6:30 am to 3:00 pm or 7:30 am to 4:00 pm. Based in Waverly, you will interact with teams in Ames, working alongside a collaborative engineering design team of 10. This is a Contract position based out of Waverly, IA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $36.00 - $44.00/hr.
