    Job Title: Bilingual Phlebotomist

    Job Description

    We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced bilingual phlebotomist with a minimum of two years' recent phlebotomy experience. The ideal candidate will be proficient with straight needles and must be comfortable performing venipunctures independently from day one. Strong communication skills, reliability, punctuality, and fluency in both Spanish and English are essential for this role.

    Responsibilities

    + Perform blood draws, label specimens, centrifuge specimens, record maintenance data, decontaminate equipment, and update patient information.

    + Collect and store specimens according to established procedures.

    + Clearly and courteously explain the venipuncture process and other specimen collections such as urine or fecal as required.

    + Demonstrate techniques using straight needles and/or butterfly needles.

    + Match laboratory requisition forms to specimen tubes.

    + Label, centrifuge, split, and freeze specimens as required by test order.

    + Ensure all test requisitions or computer labels are 100% correct against the script.

    + Package specimens for transport.

    + Store specimen samples at the required temperature, place samples in appropriate collection containers/tubes, accurately label, and follow procedures to maintain the integrity of the specimen for transport.

    Essential Skills

    + Minimum of 2 years' experience performing venipunctures in a fast-paced lab or hospital setting.

    + Proficiency with straight needles and the ability to perform venipunctures independently.

    + Bilingual fluency in Spanish and English.

    + Strong communication skills.

     

    Work Environment

     

    This is a part-time position with working hours from Monday to Friday, 10am to 3pm, totaling 25 hours per week.

     

    We also are hiring for full time hours

     

    The role involves working in a fast-paced laboratory environment where you will perform specimen collections and related tasks.

     

    Job Type & Location

     

    This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Bronx, NY.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $23.00/hr.
