Position Title: Automotive Harness Engineer

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Automotive Harness Engineer with a strong electrical engineering foundation and hands-on expertise in designing and integrating complex automotive-grade wiring systems. This role focuses on harness engineering—not just routing—and requires deep familiarity with industry tools, connector standards, and electronic component integration.

The ideal candidate will be comfortable working with intricate harness architectures involving multiple branches and splices, and will play a key role in supporting the development and validation of electrical systems for advanced automotive platforms.

Key Responsibilities

+ Design and route highly complex automotive-grade wire harnesses with multiple branches, splices, and integration points

+ Develop and maintain harness databases and drawings using Zuken software

+ Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate electronics and hardware components into vehicle systems

+ Apply deep knowledge of automotive connectors, CAN networks, and (optionally) automotive Ethernet protocols

+ Support system-level integration and troubleshooting of electrical components

+ Align work hours with Pacific Time Zone to facilitate team collaboration (preferred)

Required Qualifications

+ Proven expertise in routing and designing complex automotive wire harnesses

+ Strong electrical engineering background with emphasis on harness design

+ Proficiency in Zuken for database creation and harness drawing development

+ Solid understanding of automotive-grade connectors and communication protocols (CAN required; Ethernet a plus)

+ Experience integrating electronics and hardware components into automotive systems

+ Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively across engineering disciplines

+ Willingness to work Pacific Time Zone hours or currently located within the time zone

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Mountain View, CA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $110.00 - $125.00/hr.
