Job Description Install, configure, and maintain an organization's local area network (LAN), wide area network (WAN), data communications network, operating systems, and physical and virtual servers. Perform system monitoring and verify the integrity and availability of hardware, network, and server resources and systems. Review system and application logs and verify completion of scheduled jobs, including system backups. Analyze network and server resource consumption and control user access. Install and upgrade software and maintain software licenses. May assist in network modeling, analysis, planning, and coordination between network and data communications hardware and software. Project specific: responsible for the acquisition, installation, maintenance, and usage of the organization's local area network. Manages network performance and maintains network security. Ensures that security procedures are implemented and enforced. Installs all network software. Evaluates, develops and maintains telecommunications systems. Troubleshoots network problems. Establishes and implements network policies, procedures, and standards and ensures their conformance with information systems and organization objectives. Trains users on network operation. Frequently reports to Senior Network Engineer/Description: Under direct supervision, maintains integrity of the operating system environment. Performs system software upgrades including planning and scheduling, testing, and coordination. Performs workstation and server administration setup. Coordinates disk space planning and management. Maintains growth statistics, space forecasts, tape libraries, and software and hardware inventories. Performs data backups and recoveries. Monitors and maintains continuity with system software licensing and maintenance agreements. Provides recommendations regarding hardware and system software planning and budgeting. Maintains production change control schedule and participates in change control. Position Responsibilities · Configure, install, and update Windows-based computers, servers, and associated peripherals. · Configure, install, and update Linux-based servers. · Install required updates utilizing MECM and Software Center. · Develop, install, and maintain Windows-based operating systems. · Test and implement required security settings on all devices. · Implement security measures and perform regular system updates and backups. · Possess expertise in engineering and administering virtual platforms such as VMware/ESXi, Hyper-V, and/or Oracle. · Manage and administer data center operations. · Configure, install, and maintain multifunction devices. · Monitor the ticketing system to resolve trouble tickets promptly. · Utilize tools such as Active Directory, MECM, Software Center, Group Policy, DNS, SQL, and others to administer a large computer network. · Document processes and procedures to create, modify, and update current SOP and TTP documentation. · Develop scripts and automate routine tasks to improve efficiency. · Monitor network performance and ensure system reliability. · Support end-users and manage user accounts. · Collaborate with IT teams to design and implement new solutions. · Demonstrate familiarity with IT engineering practices and a proactive approach to problem-solving. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree + 5 years of experience. · Associate’s degree and at least 7-yrs experience in lieu of a bachelor’s degree. · Active DoD Secret (or above) Security Clearance. · CompTIA Security+ Certification.
