The energy industry is undergoing rapid and dramatic changes, transforming the utility landscape to enhance reliability and sustainability. In response, Jacobs is expanding its Energy & Power Solutions team to tackle the complexities of decarbonization and deliver a cleaner and more secure energy future. If you are seeking a meaningful career in the Energy sector, this may be the perfect fit for you!

Specific tasks may include piping and equipment sizing and selection, flow modeling, energy analysis, and life cycle cost evaluations, among other design engineering activities. You’ll be expected to possess a strong grasp of engineering fundamentals, an understanding of mechanical engineering, excellent communication skills, and exceptional problem-solving skills with the confidence to explore innovative solutions.

This position performs thermodynamic, technology, market, and economic analysis, with an emphasis on utility- and community-scale geothermal energy systems and infrastructure. Work may also include industrial process applications, water conservation goals, scope 1 and scope 2 emissions analysis, among others. The successful candidate will perform engineering/economic design of thermal energy networks and low- or no-emissions energy systems in cooperation with geothermal scientific, mechanical, thermal, chemical, control systems, electrical, and HVAC engineers.

You will collaborate with our technical leadership, operations, client account managers and sales professionals on pursuits of strategic importance to the firm, and in the internal promotion of geothermal energy as a possible solution for our existing multi-sector client base. You’ll be expected to demonstrate collaboration and high levels of communication and problem-solving skills.

The overall energy & power market, and the geothermal market in particular, is experiencing an increase in activity with strong development growth. Jacobs has a long history of providing advisory and design services to clients and is looking to further strengthen our team in this space.

If you are passionate about developing reliable and sustainable energy projects, motivated by a challenge, and enjoy working with a dynamic, multi-disciplinary team to develop innovative solutions, Jacobs is the place for you. Come join our growing team to realize the future of energy!
