Description

We are looking for a dedicated Accounts Payable Clerk to join our team on a long-term contract basis in Queens, New York. This position offers an excellent opportunity to work with one of the largest international construction companies, contributing to the smooth operation of financial processes. Ideal candidates will thrive in a fast-paced environment and demonstrate exceptional accuracy in handling high volumes of data.

Responsibilities:

• Process a minimum of 150 invoices daily with precision and attention to detail.

• Perform high-volume numeric data entry tasks to support departmental needs.

• Utilize Sage Timberline software for accounts payable activities and documentation.

• Maintain accurate financial records and ensure compliance with company policies.

• Collaborate with team members to resolve discrepancies and address invoice-related issues.

• Verify invoice details, including amounts, coding, and approvals, before processing.

• Assist in generating reports and providing administrative support for financial operations.

• Ensure timely payment to vendors by monitoring payment schedules and deadlines.

• Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders regarding payment inquiries.

• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the accounts payable department.

Requirements • Proven experience in accounts payable or a similar financial role.

• Proficiency in Sage Timberline software is highly preferred.

• Strong numeric data entry skills with a focus on accuracy and speed.

• Ability to handle high-volume invoice processing efficiently.

• Solid understanding of accounting principles and general ledger functions.

• Effective communication skills for interacting with team members and vendors.

• Strong organizational abilities to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.

• Familiarity with construction industry practices is a plus.
