    Robert Half Office Team (Houston, TX)


    Description

    We are seeking a detail-oriented Index Specialist for a contract position running from January through May. The primary responsibility of this role is to perform indexing of retrieved medical records to the appropriate member and provider combination, ensuring full compliance with medical and confidentiality standards

     

    + Index and classify electronic medical records, invoices, and communication forms.

    + Ensure all documents are properly associated with the correct member/provider and document type.

    + Maintain HIPAA compliance and confidentiality at all times.

    + Achieve and maintain 98% accuracy and meet daily productivity targets.

    + Follow established workflows, policies, and procedures.

    + Support HEDIS and retrospective review projects.

    + Communicate effectively with team members and internal collaborators.

    Requirements

    Required:

    + High school diploma (minimum)

    + 2+ years in a Health Information Management or related healthcare documentation role

    + Experience in production environments (e.g., coding, transcription, chart analysis, scanning/indexing)

    + Ability to work independently in a remote home office setup

    + Proficiency in MS Office and strong computer literacy

    + Stable internet (minimum 100 Mbps download)

    Preferred:

    + Experience with Hyland OnBase or similar document imaging software

    + Prior contract experience

    + 1 year specifically in medical record scanning and indexing
