Description We are looking for an experienced Sr. Tax Accountant to join our team in Centennial, Colorado. In this role, you will focus on ensuring compliance with tax regulations across multiple jurisdictions, with an emphasis on accuracy and thorough audits. This is a long-term contract position offering the opportunity to work in a dynamic environment within the hospitality industry.

Responsibilities:

• Verify tax rates across 60 jurisdictions, primarily focusing on the East Coast.

• Conduct audits of tax rates in the reservation system to ensure alignment with accounting software records.

• Review governmental websites to confirm filing accuracy and compliance in approximately 20 states, covering city, county, and state levels.

• Maintain and update passwords for government filing sites using secure management tools.

• Utilize Avalara and Excel, including pivot tables, to manage tax-related tasks and reporting.

• Assist with cleaning up and optimizing tax settings within Mews software.

• Ensure proper handling of occupancy taxes and food and beverage taxes, adhering to regulations.

• Provide support in tax preparation for individual, corporate, and sales tax returns.

• Collaborate with team members to streamline processes and improve accuracy.

• Leverage hospitality industry knowledge to address tax-related needs for hotel management operations. Requirements • Proven experience in individual, corporate, and sales tax preparation.

• Strong proficiency in Excel, including advanced functions and pivot tables.

• Familiarity with Avalara and Mews software is highly desirable.

• Knowledge of occupancy tax and food and beverage tax regulations.

• Prior experience in the hospitality industry is a plus.

• Ability to audit and verify compliance across multiple jurisdictions.

• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

• Comfortable working in a long-term contract role with minimal supervision.
