    Job Description

    In this internship opportunity at Skyworks, you will learn and participate in material support working with seasoned engineering professionals and collaborating with subject matter experts within Skyworks. Not only will you get to know how things work in the industry, but you will also accumulate advanced technical knowledge and skills, valuable experience as well as explore full-time job opportunities at Skyworks.     + Support Prototype lab assembly builds — from document verification, material preparation, and kitting for SMT.

    + Preprare materials shortage report in coordination with assembly lab to initiate new program builds

    + Work with IT, Data, Program managers, Materials analyst and Component engineering to implement SAP for materials management

    + Assist Program Managers, design team and the assembly lab, with sourcing materials from internal and external suppliers.

    + Receive, log, store, and transfer engineering materials to appropriate build locations.

    + Monitor material delivery timelines to meet engineering and production milestones.

    + Identify and resolve material shortages, overages, and delivery issues.

    + Prepare and deliver regular reports on material status and risks.

    + Develop and refine work instructions and inventory management processes.

    + Coordinate the disposition of obsolete, non-conforming, and excess materials.

    + Support cost reduction initiatives through inventory optimization and process improvements.

    + Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure alignment on material readiness for the program buids

     

    We are looking for a student who is available for 6 months, from January to May/June 2026.

     

    Required Experience and Skills

     

    + Associates or Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).

    + 2+ years of experience in NPI, supply chain, materials planning, or process analysis roles.

    + Experience working in an engineering or manufacturing environment.

    + Hands-on experience with SAP S/4HANA in a supply chain or production setting.

    + Strong skills in MS Excel (including macros and lookup functions) and Power BI or equivalent data visualization tools.

    + Experience with process mapping tools (e.g., Visio, MS PPT).

    + Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

    + Excellent verbal and written communication skills (in English).

    + Ability to manage multiple priorities and work cross-functionally in a fast-paced environment.

    + Familiarity with semiconductor assembly operations is a plus.

     

    The typical pay range for an Engineering intern across the U.S. is currently USD $26.00 - $47.50 per hour and for a Non-Engineering intern across the U.S. is currently USD $22.50 - $42.00 per hour. Starting pay will depend on level of education, the ultimate job duties and requirements, and work location. Skyworks has different pay ranges for different work locations in the U.S.
