*The University of Maryland School of Pharmacy, Deans Administration*has an opening for a*Philanthropy Operations Specialist*within the*Development & Alumni Affairs department*.The Philanthropy Operations Specialist plays a dual role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of the Office of Development while also supporting fundraising and donor engagement initiatives. This position is ideal for a highly organized, proactive individual equipped with the ability to support day-to-day philanthropy operations and support development strategies that support the university’s advancement goals. All employees are expected to work primarily physically within the State of Maryland.* *UMB CORE VALUES:* Respect & Integrity, Well-Being & Sustainability, Equity & Justice, and Innovation & Discovery* * *PRIMARY DUTIES* * Responsible for the maintenance of the donation and gift records using the university's CRM, e.g., Blackbaud. Provide day-to-day support activities related to gift processing and reporting functions, including gift and pledge processing, reconciliation of bank deposits and gift receipting in a productive and efficient manner, especially in peak times, such as calendar- and fiscal-year end. * Assist in planning and executing donor engagement and stewardship activities, including events, mailings, endowment reports, and communications. * Prepare correspondence, donor acknowledgments, briefing materials, and fundraising proposals as needed. * Conduct prospect research to support gift officers and leadership in identifying and cultivating potential donors. * Ensure the accuracy of database through consistent input, maintenance and review. Clarify, implement, monitor, and honor donors intent and instructions, and ensure allocations are accurately documented in the donor records. Resolve database performance and capacity issues. Maintain procedures for ensuring integrity of the donor database and maintain data models. Create and compile routine reports as needed by management. * Generate reports and dashboards to track development progress, campaign performance, and donor engagement. * Track and facilitate endowment funds process from initiation through award reporting. * Provide information to and develop relationships with campus Philanthropy offices in order to facilitate gift administration and communicate policies and procedures. * Provide general administrative support for philanthropy operations within Development Office. * Serve as the primary point of contact for internal and external inquiries to the office; manage incoming communications and route appropriately. * Maintain organized digital and physical filing systems in compliance with university policies and donor confidentiality standards. * Performs other duties as assigned. *MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS* *Education:*Bachelor's degree. *Experience:*Two (2) years of experience in professional environment, preferably higher education or not-for-profit, working with data entry and databases. Experience with Microsoft Office Suite. * *** *Other:*Except for qualifications established by law, additional related experience and formal education in which one has gained the knowledge, skills, and abilities required for full performance of the work of the job class may be substituted for the education or experience requirement on a year-for-year basis with 30 undergraduate college credits being equivalent to one year of related experience.
