Sr. Buyer

Position Summary:

The Sr. Buyer is responsible for managing procurement activities for assigned categories, ensuring timely and cost-effective acquisition of goods and services. This role involves strategic sourcing, supplier relationship management, and continuous improvement initiatives to support organizational goals and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

+ Procurement & Sourcing:

+ Develop and execute sourcing strategies for assigned commodities or services.

+ Negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms with suppliers to achieve cost savings and favorable conditions.

+ Supplier Management:

+ Build and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers.

+ Monitor supplier performance and resolve issues related to quality, delivery, or compliance.

+ Cost Optimization:

+ Analyze market trends and identify opportunities for cost reduction.

+ Implement strategies to improve total cost of ownership.

+ Compliance & Risk Management:

+ Ensure adherence to company policies, ethical standards, and regulatory requirements.

+ Mitigate supply chain risks through proactive planning and contingency strategies.

+ Cross-Functional Collaboration:

+ Partner with operations, finance, and engineering teams to align procurement with business needs.

+ Support new product development and project launches with timely sourcing.

+ Data Analysis & Reporting:

+ Prepare reports on purchasing activities, cost savings, and supplier performance.

+ Utilize ERP systems and procurement tools for accurate data management.

Qualifications:

+ Education: Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, or related field.

+ Experience:5+ years in procurement or supply chain roles, with at least 2 years in a senior or lead capacity.

+ Strong negotiation and contract management experience.

+ Skills:Excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.

+ Proficiency in ERP systems (SAP, Oracle) and Microsoft Excel.

Job Type & Location

This is a Permanent position based out of Sheboygan Falls, WI.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $60000.00 - $80000.00/yr.
