    Job Title: Accounting Associate

    Job Description

    We are seeking a detail-oriented and self-motivated Accounts Payable/Receivable Specialist to join our team onsite in Dyer, IN. This role focuses primarily on Accounts Payable, with additional responsibilities in Accounts Receivable and general accounting support. The ideal candidate will be organized, coachable, and capable of working independently in a fast-paced environment.

    Responsibilities

    + Process approximately 50 invoices daily, including PO-based and non-PO (e.g., utility bills, expenses).

    + Ensure accurate GL coding and timely invoice processing via electronic inbox.

    + Perform weekly check runs and manage AP aging reports.

    + Post and apply customer payments weekly.

    + Follow up on past due accounts, short payments, and invoice inquiries.

    + Conduct weekly reconciliation of customer payments via Chase.

    + Perform monthly bank reconciliations.

    + Support a 3-day close process (last day of the month plus first 3 days of the following month).

    Essential Skills

    + Basic proficiency in Excel; pivot tables and VLOOKUP are a plus.

    + Strong multitasking and organizational skills.

    + Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

    + Willingness to learn and adapt.

     

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

     

    + Experience with AP 3 way match.

    + Ability to handle both AP, AR, and support to month end.

    + No planned PTO or time off during month end or holidays.

    + Industry experience in manufacturing, construction, engineering.

    + Familiarity with Apex ERP system is nice to have.

    Work Environment

    Work hours are Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM to 4:30 PM, with an option to discuss an 8:00 AM start. The company offers a casual dress attire. The role involves working closely with the controller, providing an opportunity to make a significant impact within the accounting team. There is an unpaid holiday shutdown from December 24 to January 1.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $30.00/hr.
