Fully Remote Indirect Tax Consultant
Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Indirect Tax Consultant to join our team and play a vital role in our SAP migration project. The successful candidate will leverage their expertise in indirect tax processes, SAP S4/HANA implementation, and Vertex OSRS to ensure compliance and optimization of our tax systems.
Responsibilities
+ Review and assess the current SAP R3 tax configuration and its migration path to SAP S4/HANA.
+ Conduct gap analysis and recommend solutions for indirect tax compliance.
+ Document configuration changes and provide knowledge transfer to internal teams.
+ Collaborate with external consultants to troubleshoot and resolve configuration problems.
+ Ensure Vertex OSRS is properly integrated and functioning within the new SAP environment.
+ Act as the subject matter expert (SME) for Indirect Tax processes in the U.S.
+ Bridge communication and technical gaps between internal tax leadership and external consultants.
+ Oversee and validate the configuration of Vertex OSRS within SAP S4/HANA.
+ Identify and resolve system configuration issues impacting tax calculation and compliance.
+ Optimize tax system performance and ensure alignment with business requirements.
+ Provide guidance on best practices for indirect tax setup during ERP migration.
Essential Skills
+ 10+ years of experience in Indirect Tax for the U.S. (Canada experience is a plus).
+ Expertise in Vertex OSRS.
+ Hands-on experience with SAP S4/HANA, especially SAP R3 to S4 migration.
+ Strong skills in configuration and optimization of tax systems.
+ Proficiency in tax, accounting, and financial software.
+ Strong communication skills for interfacing between tax leadership and technical consultants.
+ Proven ability to troubleshoot complex system integration issues.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Experience with Deloitte in similar projects.
+ Strong knowledge of U.S. indirect tax regulations and processes.
+ Proficiency in Excel pivot tables, account reconciliation, and tax analysis.
Work Environment
This is a fully remote role, with occasional opportunities to collaborate in the White Plains office. The position is open due to a project gap with the Head of Tax and requires collaboration with external consultants. Standard working hours apply, with flexibility around closing times.

This is a Contract position based out of White Plains, NY.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $60.00 - $80.00/hr.
