    Job Title: Category Manager - Fasteners and Springs

    Job Description

    Join our supply chain management team to create a significant impact by driving cost management and operational benefits. As a Category Manager for Fasteners and Springs, you will support the development and deployment of global category strategies, optimizing conditions for cost, quality, delivery, and innovation across multiple business units.

    Responsibilities

    + Support the development and deployment of strategic initiatives to facilitate cross-business synergies across a rationalized set of global and regional preferred supplier partners.

    + Negotiate and manage key strategic supplier contracts and relationships.

    + Review, approve, monitor, and report compliance to category agreements and strategies based on strategic directions.

    + Lead the development and execution of sourcing strategies for various regions.

    + Plan, prepare, and execute annual profit planning for owned spend, and support execution with cross-functional teams.

    + Lead Supplier Business Reviews with strategic suppliers annually.

    + Identify and address potential financial and operational threats, developing proactive supplier risk mitigation strategies to ensure supply continuity.

    + Facilitate cross-functional teams in managing financially distressed supplier situations with high visibility to senior leadership.

    Essential Skills

    + Proven experience in procurement, category management, and supply chain.

    + Strong negotiation and strategic sourcing skills.

    + Ability to manage supplier relationships, negotiations, and contracts.

    + Experience in overseeing supplier-related projects such as cost reduction and supplier transitions.

    + Proficiency in addressing major supply or production issues.

    + Experience with SAP and purchasing systems.

     

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

     

    + Minimum 3 years in category management or procurement, or 5 years in supply chain/operations.

    + Commercial experience with buyers and purchasing/contracts is preferred.

    + Industry background in industrial or B2B is a bonus.

    + Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, or Business Administration from an accredited institution.

    + Ability to drive results via fact-based negotiations.

    This is a Contract position based out of Southfield, MI.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $53.00 - $55.00/hr.
