Job Description:

Our Machesney Park, IL location is looking for a **Maintenance/Machine Repair Technician** for Cold Heading and Thread Rolling Machines who is interested in continuing to grow in their maintenance career. Knowledge of electrical components, high and low voltage, hydraulics, welding/fabricating and mechanically skilled to be able to dismantle machine components is required. The hours are 7 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

+ Inspect machinery to diagnose malfunctions in equipment, repair replace defective equipment as necessary.

+ Test and repair malfunctioning production equipment/machinery and notify appropriate personnel.

+ Perform routine maintenance on equipment including machinery, cranes, forklift, etc.

+ Assemble and install equipment using hand and power tools, welder, hoists, saws, drills, wrenches, etc.

+ Electrical repair knowledge desired

+ Advanced knowledge for use of, Milling Machine, Brake press, Drill press, and general machine shop equipment.

+ Test water supply daily, maintain wastewater treatment equipment and process.

+ Repair machinery re; lathe, mill, drill press, and other tools as required.

+ Maintains current knowledge and actively addresses safety and environmental issues.

+ Other duties may include: janitorial, plumbing, pipefitting, painting, carpentry.

+ Understand hydraulic principles, pneumatic principles etc.

+ Demonstrate high level of mechanical aptitude and must possess the knowledge of timing of cams and gears, how to set backlash, replace bushings.

+ Maintains current knowledge and actively addresses safety and environmental issues.

+ Perform other duties as assigned

**MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS** :

+ 3-5+ years maintenance experience

+ Associates degree from a Technical College preferred

+ Apprenticeship or Journeyman experience preferred

+ Ability to complete basic mathematical calculations

+ Forklift Truck Experience required

+ Strong mechanical aptitude

+ Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating, and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals

+ Ability to complete routine production and quality reports.

+ Ability to lift up to 50 pounds

+ Understanding and compliance with safety rules and regulations

+ Strong verbal and written communication skills

Compensation Information:

$25-35
