Job Summary
The Georgia Department of Education - Federal Programs (Migrant Education), is recruiting for a Migrant Education recruiter. Under general supervision, the successful incumbent travels throughout assigned area of the state to conduct Title I – Part C, Migrant Education Program identification and recruitment (ID&R) and interviews parents/guardians of children or self-eligible youth who have not obtained a high school diploma or its equivalent from abroad (below the age of 22). Duties include, but are not limited to, following:
Job Duties
+ Apply and understand fully all federal and state regulations of eligibility for the Migrant Education Program when conducting eligibility interviews Complete the Certificate of Eligibility (COE) during each interview and fully explain program services and rights to the interviewee
Prepare accurate reports or other documents in a timely fashion related to ID & R activities in the field and/or office
+ Attend all local and state ID& R/recruiter meetings as applicable or requested
+ Train and assist local education agency staff in proper recruitment requirements and techniques, including quality control evaluations
+ This position involves significant travel within the assigned geographic region and also requires availability to work flexible hours, including
evenings and weekends.
+ Applicants must hold a valid Georgia driver’s license and have reliable transportation with insurance
Preferred Qualifications
+ Two years of college
+ Post-secondary experience in education, agriculture, or social services
+ Knowledge of Federal and State Migrant Education Program requirements
+ Two or more years of experience serving migrant students
+ Three years of experience in a customer service setting, communicating information
+ Strong collaboration skills with school personnel and support agencies
+ Self-motivation and excellent communication and organization skills
+ Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university
+ Must be fully bilingual in English/Spanish

High school diploma/GED and three (3) years of experience communicating information in a customer service setting; or two (2) years of experience required at the lower level Customer Svc Rep 2 (GST121).
