NGMS is looking for a Sr Quality Engineer to support our work in the Baltimore, MD facility.

A Quality Engineer develops, modifies, applies, and maintains quality evaluation and control systems and protocols for processing materials into partially finished or finished materials products, focusing on defect minimization and process improvement.

+ Collaborates with engineering and manufacturing functions to ensure quality standards are in place.

+ Devises and implements methods and procedures for inspecting, testing, and evaluating the precision and accuracy of products and production equipment.

+ Designs and analyzes inspection and testing processes, mechanisms, and equipment; conducts quality assurance tests; and performs statistical analysis to assess the cost of and determine the responsibility for products or materials that do not meet required standards and specifications.

+ Audits quality systems for deficiency identification and correction.

+ Ensures that corrective measures meet acceptable reliability standards and that documentation is compliant with requirements.

+ May specialize in the areas of design, incoming material, production control, product evaluation and reliability, inventory control, and/or research and development as they apply to product or process quality.

+ May be certified in lean and six-sigma quality engineering methodologies.

+ Solid written and verbal interpersonal communication skills.

+ Implement QMA Engagement strategies across the program life-cycle from supporting new business pursuits to supporting fielded systems.

+ Act as the main Quality focal point for the program and be responsible for applying and maintaining quality evaluation techniques and control systems to ensure compliance with contractual requirements.

+ Collaborate with customers, supply chain, program management, contracts, engineering, and manufacturing functions to ensure quality standards are in place and maintained.

+ Perform assessments of the program activities to ensure compliance with stated requirements.

+ Strong problem solving skills

**Basic Qualifications Sr. Principal Quality Engineer** :

+ Bachelor of Science Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) related field with a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience in quality; OR a minimum of 6 years in quality with a Master's degree in a related STEM field; 4 Years with a PhD.

+ Experience supporting cross-functional teams to resolve problems or issues.

+ Experience with SAP, ISE, and/or CADSTAR.

+ Experience with dispositioning nonconforming material reports.

+ Experience working with electrical or mechanical design requirements and specifications (IPC, J-STD, MIL-STD).

+ The ability to obtain a DOD secret clearance

+ US citizenship required.

Preferred Qualifications Sr. Principal Quality Engineer:

+ Experience working with manufacturing.

+ Bacheors degree in Engineering

+ Experience with the Material Review Board (MRB) process.

+ Experience with interpreting and presenting quality metrics.

+ Experience with AS9100 Quality Management System and AS9102 First Article Inspections.

+ Green/Black Belt Certified in Lean Six Sigma.

+ The ability to obtain Secret Clearance.

+ ASQ Certifications (CQM, CQE)

Primary Level Salary Range: $119,200.00 - $178,800.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
