    CNC Mill Programmer / Setup / Machinist (Engineer I – Mechanical R&D Support)

    **2 Year contract** - Conversion potential

    **Pay:** 35.00-50.00 DOE

    Shift: 1st (6:00 A.M.–2:30 P.M.) • Overtime/Weekends: As needed

     

    Seeking a hands-on CNC Machinist/Programmer to support Mechanical R&D builds for Ophthalmic Instrumentation. This role involves programming, setup, and operation of CNC mills (Okuma preferred) to produce precision prototype parts.

    Responsibilities:

    + Program and operate CNC mills using Surfcam or Mastercam (10+ yrs exp., including surfacing).

    + Machine parts in stainless steel, steel, aluminum, and plastics.

    + Read and interpret blueprints, sketches, and GD&T drawings.

    + Maintain tight tolerances (typically +/–.002").

    + Perform complete setups and First Piece Inspections with minimal supervision.

    + Work directly with engineers on design modifications and first articles.

    Qualifications:

    + 10–15 years CNC machining experience; Okuma prototype experience preferred.

    + Strong balance of programming, setup, and machining skills.

    + High attention to detail, positive attitude, and flexibility to work overtime when needed.This job description is a complete list of all desired skills but not all are required.
