Job Description

Responsibilities:
+ Applying patches, upgrades, performance analysis, optimizations, and clustering for high availability environments.
+ Migrating data between database environments (development, test, and production).
+ Applying data obfuscation routines to protect sensitive data elements.
+ Implementing, monitoring, and maintaining database systems security; ensuring proper user accessibility; and overseeing security procedures.
+ Defining and implementing disaster recovery; ensuring information protection and file integrity; and overseeing backup procedures.
+ Developing, implementing, maintaining, and enforcing policies and procedures for database systems administration.
+ Developing and reviewing data models and SQL queries.
+ Supporting the Corporate Data Management and Data Governance programs.
+ Provides in-depth -server and database services supporting the Horace Mann data environment.
+ Performs administrative duties associated with the support, tuning and development of databases.
+ Provides database troubleshooting support.
+ Performs critical database functions such as database upgrades, performance analysis, and optimizations.
+ Assists with defining, implementing, and managing the database disaster recovery solution.
+ Acts as a mentor to other team members as a key resource for database management functions such as database review, design, maintenance, and implementation.
+ Develops and maintains database performance alerts and leads efforts to troubleshoot issues
+ Assists with the preparation of documentation relating to compliance, operating procedures, architecture, and projects

SKILLS NEEDED:
+ 5+ years of experience working as a DBA.
+ Has managed small to medium sized data projects or components of larger projects.
Candidate must be able to effectively communicate in English (written & verbal)
Candidate must have permanent authorization to work in the USA for any employer
The base range for this contract position is $50.00 - $80.00 per hour, depending on experience. Our pay ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hires of this position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
