Job Title: Special Education Teacher – Elementary

Start Date: ASAP (Estimated Start: 11/24/2025)

Duration: Remainder of the 2025–2026 school year (possibility of extension into 2026–2027)

Schedule: Full-time, 35 hours/week (specific hours vary by school location)

Pay Rate: $48/hour

Job Description:

The Special Education Teacher, under the direction of the Special Education Program Administrator, provides high-quality services to students with special needs in grades K–12. This role emphasizes collaboration in planning and implementing individualized student programs, including specialized instruction, tutorial support, and consultation with general education staff.

Responsibilities:

+ Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)

+ Deliver differentiated instruction to students with disabilities

+ Adapt learning materials and teaching strategies

+ Collect and analyze student performance data to inform instruction

+ Collaborate with families, general education teachers, and support staff

+ Maintain a safe and supportive learning environment

Qualifications:

+ Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university (preferred)

+ Valid Maryland State Department of Education (MSDE) teaching certification with endorsement in Special Education

+ Note: Conditional or provisional licenses will not be accepted

+ Endorsement: Learning Behavior Specialist (LBS1) preferred

+ Minimum of 1 year of Special Education teaching experience

+ Compliance with all federal, state, and local requirements
