Description of Work Unit
The Analytical Resources Core ( ARC ) is an Institutional Core in the Office of the Vice President for Research ( OVPR ) at CSU . The mission of the ARC is to enable cutting-edge STEM research and development programs by providing access to sophisticated analytical instrumentation, expert guidance, research training and services to CSU and the broader community. We strive to build analytical instrument capabilities that exceed the normal resources of individual research programs and make those technologies available as a shared resource. We also aim to provide an environment rich in expertise and educational resources, and to foster collaboration across the CSU community and beyond.
Position Summary
The Analytical Resources Core ( ARC ) at Colorado State University invites applications for postdoctoral researchers to support the diverse analytical and research service areas within the Core when needs arise.
The ARC encompasses state-of-the-art facilities in materials characterization, molecular and structural analysis, bioanalysis and omics, and imaging and surface science.
Postdoctoral researchers in this open pool may contribute to method development, user training, sample and data analysis, and instrument support across a range of techniques, including but not limited to:
+ Mass spectrometry, proteomics, and metabolomics
+ Nuclear magnetic resonance ( NMR ) spectroscopy
+ X-ray diffraction ( XRD ) and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy ( XPS )
+ Electron microscopy ( SEM , TEM ) and biological and materials sample preparation
+ Magnetic, electrical, and thermal characterization techniques
Ideal candidates will demonstrate strong technical and analytical skills, a commitment to research and user support, and an interest in advancing shared instrumentation capabilities. Positions are contingent on available funding and project needs within the ARC .
Required Job Qualifications
+ Applicants must have a PhD degree in a related field by the position start date.
