    Position Summary Information

    Position Summary

    Reporting to the Dean of Students, the Director of Esports provides overall management, guidance, and strategy development for the Esports program. They will be responsible for the Head Coaching and instruction of students for at least one game, and for the management and training of other Esports Coaches. In addition, they will create and maintain sponsorship opportunities and oversee fundraising efforts for the Esports program.

    Major Responsibilities

    + Knowledge of and commitment to all institutional and Esports governing bodies, rules, and regulations.

    + Ensure Esports program recruitment and retention goals are attained.

    + Conduct video analysis and instruction as a teaching and preparation tool.

    + Coordinate scheduling of matches and maintain the composite schedule of all Esports teams.

    + Ensure the ongoing eligibility of student/athletes in the Esports program and monitor their academic progress.

    + Conduct maintenance of physical equipment and resources.

    + Monitor the use of the Esports Arena and ensure its maximum use.

    + Maintain inventory of uniforms, supplies, and equipment.

    + Build and foster relationships with local, regional, and national high schools that are interested in Esports for recruiting their students.

    + Ensure compliance with Title IX and other University policies & procedures.

    + Assume game administration duties as necessary.

    + Represent Utica University Esports at conferences and events as needed.

    + Ensures that Utica Esports is featured in regional, national, and international contests and events as approved by the supervisor.

    + Other duties as assigned.

    Education & Experience Qualifications

    A bachelor’s degree, or the equivalent, is required. A combination of education and experience will be considered. Prior coaching and/or competitive Esports experience is required.

     

    Minimum Skills/Abilities

     

    Excellent human relations, communication and organization skills, multicultural sensitivity, a strong work ethic, flexibility, fundraising experience, and a genuine concern for students’ development and well-being.
