    UPMC Physician Operations and Professional Services, LLC in Pittsburgh, PA seeks multiple Associate Data Scientists to serve as part of data science and analytics support for the UMPC Department of Clinical Analytics providing data-driven analytics to generate evidence, recommendations, tools, and resources for optimal patient care and operational efficiency. Work across multiple analytic tools and disparate data sources and analyze patient-care metrics, patient data, and health care needs to predict healthcare trends and enhance patient treatment and healthcare. Leverage skills in SQL queries, Tableau dashboards, machine learning, and descriptive, predictive, and prescriptive analytics, to design, develop and validate robust analytical algorithms to perform complex statistical analyses on biological and healthcare data. Configure, maintain, and monitor data collection infrastructures and incorporate predictive modeling into the healthcare analytic and biomedical modeling programs. Create models that present findings of various statistical analyses. Keep abreast and advise on emerging machine learning and AI technologies that may better support the mission of department of Clinical Analytics, including better approaches to patient care and improved efficiency of the UPMC health care system at large. Incorporate new data sources (e.g., imaging data, retrieval augmented generation, generative AI, etc.) in currently deployed and new predictive models.

    Job Responsibilities:

    * Serve as part of data science and analytics support for the UMPC Department of Clinical Analytics providing data-driven analytics to generate evidence, recommendations, tools, and resources for optimal patient care and operational efficiency.

    * Work across multiple analytic tools and disparate data sources and analyze patient-care metrics, patient data, and health care needs to predict healthcare trends and enhance patient treatment and healthcare.

    * Leverage skills in SQL queries, Tableau dashboards, machine learning, and descriptive, predictive, and prescriptive analytics, to design, develop and validate robust analytical algorithms to perform complex statistical analyses on biological and healthcare data.

    * Incorporate new data sources (e.g., imaging data, retrieval augmented generation, generative AI, etc.) in currently deployed and new predictive models

    + Master's degree, or equivalent, in Statistics, Computer Science, Mathematics, Bioinformatics, or a related field plus one (1) year of data science, machine learning engineering, or related quantitative experience:

    + designing programs to analyze complex scenarios;

    + performing data visualizations of predictive accuracy of machine learning models;

    + maintaining technical documentation of data analysis processes, data models and reports using Python-based machine learning methodology within Oracle based and Snowflake cloud-based Data Warehouse environment;

    + training, evaluating revising and retraining ML predictive models;

    + writing, executing, validating, and monitoring structured query language (SQL) queries, including use of SQL in Oracle and Snowflake database environments;

    + using statistical programming languages such as, MATLAB, Mathematica, SAS, R, STATISTICA or Python valuating and pricing Medicare (Part C and Part D);

    + Some telecommuting permissible.
