    Job Description

    Insight Global is seeking an Oracle DBA to join a world leader in ATM self-service technologies in Irving, TX onsite 5 days per week. This individual will be responsible for for Database Design, software installation and upgrade, database backup & recovery, overall performance monitoring, capacity planning, and database security. As the Oracle/SQL Server DBA, you will be responsible for successful support and maintenance of the SQL Server and Oracle environment. You will collaborate with the DBA team and other IT application teams in providing efficient DBA support. Reporting to the IT Infrastructure Project Manager, you will be responsible for assisting in the planning, execution, and monitoring of various IT projects within our organization. You will also be involved in patching, upgrading, tuning, and stabilizing of the SQL Server and Oracle environments to support our client's core business objectives. Most work is completed during regular business hours. Occasionally, with new system upgrades or server fixes, work must be completed during odd hours of the night or on weekends. This is when traffic to a Website or office activity will be at its lowest and thus have less of an impact on business.

    Skills and Requirements

     

    -5+ years of experience supporting various Oracle versions on Linux and Windows OS

     

    -Experience writing new procedures and make updates to existing procedures in Oracle PL/SQL

     

    -Minimum 2+ years of experience with SQL Server Database support

     

    -Experience with Exadata, Data Guard, RMAN, OEM, Shell Scripting

     

    -Experience providing database support, including ad hoc data requests, database query, SQL profiling, index optimization, and stored procedure design.

     

    -Experience troubleshooting, investigating, and driving resolution of incidents, including inquiries related to performance, application errors, storage capacity, etc.

     

    -Strong communication skills and a self-starter -Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering or similar field
