• Senior Software Engineer (Backend)

    Job Description

    Insight Global is looking for a Backend Senior Software Engineer for one of our retail clients in Des Moines, IA. As a Software Engineer, you'll work as a member of a cross functional agile team focused on Master Data Management and building and creating scalable APIs and Services. You'll create reusable components that are shared across many application and work with other team members to cross-pollinate ideas and skills. You'll find, monitor, and address performance issue and take features from conception to final production deployment. In the role, you'll contribute heavily to user story definition that takes our technology stack into consideration, but also continue to push the bounds of what is possible. You'll work heavily in a paired programming environment and mentor other engineers. Software Engineers will be working on full stack development with customer facing product but all working on the back end as well. The hourly compensation for this role is between $50-70/hr.

    Skills and Requirements

     

    7+ years of hands on experience with JavaScript and Node

     

    Experience building services and APIs w/ Ruby

     

    Willingness to work in paired programming

     

    Retail experience or proven ability to work in a fast paced, Enterprise to mid-size environment

     

    Ability to pick up any technology and be adaptable to different situations.

     

    Proven experience in developing and creating secure, resilient, maintainable applications. * Hands on experience with Ruby, GraphWL or Mongo

     

    * Soft Skills: Intellectually curious, strategic thinker who enjoys creative problem solving, friendly, call out a problem, respectful, and enjoys working in fast paced environment
