Job Description

We're seeking a Front-End Software Manager to lead the Digital Architecture Organization s Front-End Development Team at BAE Systems. As a key member of our leadership team, you'll oversee the development of user interfaces and client-side applications for Next Generation Electronic Warfare Systems Products and Solution. Responsibilities:

+ Lead a team of software engineers in designing, developing, and testing user interfaces and client-side applications

+ Develop and execute development strategies, plans, and processes to ensure high-quality products and solutions

+ Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Systems, Hardware, and Operations Engineers, to ensure alignment and integration of software solutions

+ Mentor and develop team members to achieve their full potential and advance in their careers

+ Manage software development projects, including budgeting, resource allocation, and timeline management

+ Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and company policies

+ Foster a culture of transparency, ensuring that all team members have visibility into project goals, objectives, and outcomes

+ Promote accountability, holding team members responsible for their actions and decisions

+ Ensure that all software development activities are properly documented and archived, upholding the principle of posterity

Required Education, Experience, & Skills

+ Education: Bachelor's Degree or equivalent professional experience

+ Experience: 6 years of front-end software engineering experience, with at least 2 years of experience in a leadership or management role

+ Programming Languages: Experienced in JavaScript, TypeScript

+ Technical Skills:

+ Strong understanding of modern front-end development principles, including semantic HTML, tailwind-css, and TypeScript

+ Experience with React, Context-API, and other front-end libraries and frameworks

+ Knowledge of Node.js and its ecosystem

+ Familiarity with front-end build tools, such as Webpack,Babel and Nx

Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills

+ Experience with frameworks such as Jest for unit testing and Playwright/Cyrpress for E2E testing

+ Knowledge of accessibility guidelines (WCAG 2.0) and best practices

+ Familiarity with Agile development methodologies and MBSE practices

+ Soft Skills:

+ Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills

+ Ability to motivate and inspire team members to achieve high-performance results

+ Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving skills

Pay Information

Full-Time Salary Range: $130355 - $221603

Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
