Job Description

The SQL Database Administrator will play a pivotal role in managing and optimizing the client's critical database infrastructure. This position requires extensive hands-on experience with SQL Server, MySQL, and PostgreSQL, particularly in cloud environments such as AWS RDS. The ideal candidate will be adept at maintaining high availability and disaster recovery solutions, collaborating with developers and engineering teams to ensure robust schema design and performance optimization. Responsibilities include overseeing a large portfolio of database instances, supporting complex applications, and troubleshooting operational issues. Success in this role demands a strong commitment to data security, process adherence, and the ability to handle complex scenarios beyond routine DBA tasks. The administrator will be a key partner in driving database reliability, scalability, and efficiency for the client's enterprise systems.

Skills and Requirements

Experience working in large, business-critical environments.

Strong understanding of data security and strict access control.

Hands-on experience with AWS RDS, including upgrades and maintenance.

Deep expertise in SQL Server (on-prem), MySQL, and PostgreSQL (in AWS).

Skilled in managing upgrades and maintenance of SQL Server.

Proficient in schema design and changes, collaborating with developers.

Experience ensuring proper database design for both application and production environments.

Works effectively with developers, customers, and vendors on availability and code-related issues.

Handles complex scenarios beyond basic DBA tasks.
