    Summary THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 5 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION. This National Guard position is for a MANAGEMENT SUPPORT SPECIALIST, Position Description Number T57411P1 and is part of the 106TH RQW, National Guard. This vacancy does not meet the criteria for appointment of annuitants. Responsibilities As a MANAGEMENT SUPPORT SPECIALIST, GS-0301-09, you will administer and direct the Group Commander's Support Staff functions to ensure smooth day-to-day operations. Additionally, trains personnel in the accomplishment of tasks set forth herein. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Experience, education or training which provided a general knowledge of principles of organization, management, and administration. Compiling reports, letters, memoranda, etc., and required person-to-person contacts to convey information. Progressively responsible experience which demonstrates the ability to provide technical guidance and assistance in the type of work or in comparable work of the position to be filled. Experience using computer and automation systems. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: 1 year specialized experience, education or training equivalent to at least the next lower grade level. Applicants must have experience providing technical guidance and assistance in the type of work or in comparable work of the position to be filled. Applicants must have a thorough knowledge and understanding of administrative procedures and practices of management. Experience developing administrative procedures. Must have experience planning, organizing, and overseeing the full complement of activities within the Group Commander's Support Staff (CSS). Experience in overseeing the preparation, maintenance, and disposition of required administrative reports and other correspondence. To receive credit for Education, you must provide documentation of proof that you meet the Education requirements for this position. Additional Information If you are a male applicant who was born after 12/31/1959 and are required to register under the Military Selective Service Act, the Defense Authorization Act of 1986 requires that you be registered or you are not eligible for appointment in this agency (Register | Selective Service System : Selective Service System (sss.gov)). This position is designated as Essential Personnel and may be subject to duty in preparation for, or in response to, a state emergency or disaster declaration. Head of Agency requests to exceed 14 days in a calendar year must be approved in advance by the National Guard, Director of Manpower and Personnel (NGB-J1). Recruitment/Relocation Incentive: May be authorized for highly qualified candidates or hard to fill positions. TAG is final approval authority for any incentive requests. Superior Qualifications and Special Needs Pay-setting Authority may be considered for this position. TAG is final approval authority for incentive programs (applicable to newly appointed federal employees or those with a 90 day break in service).
