    The Childhood Research Obesity Prevention Lab under the Department of Pediatrics, Division of Gastroenterology, Hepatology, and Nutrition (Pediatric GI) within Stanford University Stanford University is seeking aData Manager/Analyst to lead data management and reporting and assist with analysis fora wide variety of research study data.

     

    The Pediatric GI Division has approximately 40 pediatric gastroenterologists with nationally recognized expertise through their research, teaching, and clinical programs which attracts leading candidates to their fellowship program. We have a mission of healing children with digestive disease through innovation. Our Pediatric GI Specialtyprovides **comprehensive GI care** to children throughout our region. We **lead global destination programs** that deliver highly specialized care and train the next generation of pediatric gastroenterologists, and **inspire hope through innovation** . Our high quality, collaborative care is driven by cutting-edge research and active **partnerships** between **doctors, nurses, and staff** throughout the Stanford Medicine Children’s Health network, **scientists** at Stanford University, and **patient** **families** .     The Department of Pediatrics is a dynamic, stimulating place to work and because we are focused on growth and improved excellence, our staff have particularly challenging and rewarding roles.

    Duties include:

    + Identify and select usable data from subtle and complex data patterns. Assess and produce relevant, standard, or custom information (reports, charts, graphs, and tables) from structured data sources by querying data repositories and generating the associated information.

    + Utilize fundamental processes and methods to validate data to ensure high quality product. Distribute reports to applicable agencies, researchers, management, and other internal end-users and provide interpretation of data when needed.

    + Develop and produce dashboards, key performance indicators, and other recognized metrics used to monitor and report organizational performance. Collect and analyze metric data.

    + Collect, manage, and clean datasets using an extraction and reporting programming language to ensure data integrity.

    + Research and reconcile data discrepancies occurring among various information systems and reports.

    + Collaborate with data managers to define and implement data standards and common data elements for data collection.

    + Assist with identifying new sources of data and methods to improve data collection, analysis, and reporting.

    + and create tables, reports, summaries, and other products as requested to assist the team in monitoring data quality and completeness, meeting funder reporting requirements

    + Develop an understanding of methods and tools used for data collection and storage and make recommendations to the study team about the most effective and efficient way to use these tools.

    _Stanford University provides pay ranges representing its good faith estimate of what the University reasonably expects to pay for a position. The pay offered to a selected candidate will be determined based on factors such as (but not limited to) the scope and responsibilities of the position, the qualifications of the selected candidate, departmental budget availability, internal equity, geographic location, and external market pay for comparable jobs. The pay range for this position working in the California Bay area is $80,148.00 to $99,773.00.00 annually._

    DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

    + Excellent oral and written communication skills

    + Experience working with research data and data management systems (experience using REDCap preferred)

    + Proficiency in basic statistical analysis and use of statistical software programs (e.g. SAS, Stata, R)

    EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE (REQUIRED):

    Bachelor's degree and one year of experience or a combination of education and relevant experience. Experience in a quantitative discipline such as economics, finance, statistics or engineering.

    KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (REQUIRED):

    + Basic knowledge and demonstrated experience using and applying analytical software, database management system software, database reporting software, database user interface and query software, and data mining software.

    + Ability to collect data using a variety of methods, such as data mining and hardcopy or electronic documentation study, to improve or expand databases.

    + Strong listening, verbal and written communication skills.

    + Ability to manage multiple activities in a deadline-oriented environment; highly organized, flexible and rigorous attention to detail.

    + Ability to use logic to calculate data; efficiently construct a database or scrutinize the form of a question.

    + Ability to work with data of varying levels of quality and validity.

    + Demonstrated ability to produce data in a clear and understandable manner meeting user requirements.

    + Ability to work effectively with multiple internal and external customers.

    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS*:

    + Constantly perform desk-based computer tasks.

    + Frequently sit, sort, file paperwork or parts, grasp lightly, and use fine manipulation, lift, carry, push and pull objects that weigh 10 pounds or less.

    + Occasionally write by hand, twist, bend, stoop and squat.

    + Rarely stand, walk, reach or work above shoulders and use a telephone.
