Summary Marine Corps Community Services (MCCS) is looking for the best and brightest to join our Team! MCCS is a comprehensive program that supports and enhances the quality of life for Marines, their families, and others in the Marine Corps Community. Responsibilities Responsible for providing logistical support for MCCS special events. Coordinates specifically assigned tasks regarding MCCS Special Events Program for the military community. Assists Special Events Program Manager in planning and execution of a variety of morale, welfare, and recreation events. Under supervision of Special Events Program Manager, plans and executes a variety of events to include contests, competitions, and collaborative events. Coordinates logistical event requirements with units and MCCS divisions. Coordinates all entertainment activities to include, but not limited to, publicity requirements, performance schedules, and logistics requirements for all events. Provides detailed accounting of financial requirements to Supervisor for budgeting purposes and maintaining fiscal records for each event. Provides World Class Customer Service with an emphasis on courtesy. Assists customers and communicates positively in a friendly manner. Takes action to solve problems quickly. Alerts the higher-level supervisor, or proper point of contact for help when problems arise. Adheres to safety regulations and standards. Promptly reports any observed workplace hazards, and any injury, occupational illness, and/or property damage resulting from workplace mishaps to the immediate supervisor. Adheres to established standards of actively supporting the principles of the EEO program and prevention of sexual harassment. Performs other related duties as assigned. This is a white-collar position where occasional lifting up to 20 lbs. may be required. Requirements Conditions of Employment See Duties and Qualifications EVALUATIONS: Qualifications MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Three years of experience in the planning, coordination, and execution of special events and/or formal ceremonies. Experience in the field of music entertainment, sport entertainment, or common forms of theatre. Must possess human relations skills in dealing with the needs of visitors, entertainers and in responding to the requests of the audience. Requires three years' experience demonstrating knowledge of administrative principles and practices. Intermediate ability to manage, monitor, and track a budget. Skill to organize and track multiple high visibility projects simultaneously. Ability to effectively communicate orally and in writing. Intermediate to advanced skill in document and presentation preparation, in proper format and according to naval correspondence rules of grammar and punctuation. Must be able to handle unusual problems during planning and negotiating phases. Must be able to accommodate a flexible work schedule to include weekday and weekend special events.
