    Job Description

    Combine technical expertise, problem-solving skills, and a deep understanding of application environments to manage and support software applications/platforms used within DFA in both the IT and OT domains. Perform diverse tasks aimed at ensuring the efficient operation, security, and performance of the applications. Design and implement modules, workflows, and data maintenance strategies within the application to maintain and enhance a variety of IT, OT and business workflows. Work with internal teams and/or users to document and streamline their procedures and help them operate more efficiently through the use of the application. Work independently, receiving minimal guidance and demonstrating thorough proficiency managing supported applications.

    Job Duties and Responsibilities:

    + Manage and administer applications/platforms to align with IT and OT policies, processes, and procedures

    + Manage and Support Production Critical Technologies and applications, tools, and hardware that support plant processes and operations

    + Install and configure applications to meet the organization’s requirements. Install upgrades, patches, and updates, keeping to upgrade schedules

    + Gather requirements from users for new development or for customization to better suit the needs of users and provide KB articles

    + Provide technical support to users, addressing and resolving complex application-related issues and queries. Diagnose and resolve application errors, bugs, and performance issues. Work with software vendors for support and issue resolution. Critically evaluate the benefits of implementing a temporary workaround versus a permanent solution

    + Monitor application performance and availability, using tools and dashboards to detect and address issues proactively

    + Ensure application uptime meets or exceeds defined service level agreements. Leverage relationships with coworkers and across departments to resolve issues. Present solutions, keeping the end user/customer in mind

    + Perform regular maintenance tasks to ensure the stability and efficiency of applications

    + Support and develop automation, integrations with other systems and databases, and reporting. Implement automation scripts and tools to improve application management processes and reduce manual efforts

    + Establish and review system, application, and user security controls

    + Manage and administer users, groups, roles, categories, lists, filters, forms, etc.

    + Maintain application user interface, layout structures, workflows, plugins, and branding

    + Create and maintain technical documentation for application configurations, processes, and troubleshooting procedures. Provide training or resources on best practices and new features

    + Establish governance process, policies, and procedures for the use of applications

    + Continue to develop new skills, knowledge, and abilities to maintain currency on developments with supported applications and architecture. Consistently align activities with industry best practices

    + Learn and adapt to new situations, changing priorities, and disruptive technologies. Take initiative to experiment with new ideas and technologies

    Requirements

    Education and Experience:

    + Undergraduate degree in information technology, computer science, or related curriculum (or equivalent combination of experience and education)

    + 5 to 8 years of application administration or related experience

    + Experience with various technologies including FOSS, Visionary, Process Weaver

    + Knowledge of various technologies including Windows, networking, DNS, Azure

    + Experience in design, architecture, and implementation of various applications

    + Certification and/or License – may be required during course of employment

    Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

    + In-depth knowledge of the application or platform being supported

    + Strong understanding of plant operations

    + Understand how the tools and applications interact and support each other

    + Analytical skills to diagnose, troubleshoot, and solve complex issues or queries

    + Understanding of application security principles and practices

    + Understanding of network protocols, firewalls, and connectivity issues related to application performance

    + Knowledge of ServiceNow

    + Strong understanding of database querying and database management systems

    + Strong understanding of how connect different applications and systems for application integration

    + Able to install, upgrade, update, configure, and customize supported applications

    + Able to identify and mitigate security vulnerabilities

    + Able to use scripting languages and automation tools to streamline repetitive tasks

    + Able to use application performance monitoring tools

    + Able to communicate technical information to non-technical users effectively

    + Able to create clear and concise documentation

    + Able to work collaboratively with other IT and OT professionals, vendors, users, service owners

    + Able to plan, prioritize, and execute application-related tasks or projects

    + Able to analyze logs, reports, and performance data to make informed decisions

    + Able to quickly learn new technologies and adapt to changing environments

    + Must be able to read, write and speak English
