Job description
The Production Test Lead will work with Operations and Test Engineering to plan and schedule Production and MRO top-level and subassembly testing.. This role is considered a working lead, responsible for both scheduling and supervision work of test technicians, as well as conducting testing. The Lead will be responsible for ensuring all testing is completed within required turnaround times.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Coordinates, schedules and performs tests at the production and MRO levels of manufacturing.
• Perform Production Testing on top-level and subassembly LRUs.
• Troubleshooting of test equipment and products.
• Gathers and studies information regarding materials and components to be used in production.
• Drafts proposals for testing programs and operating procedures; outlines the specific testing conditions to be applied.
• Tests new products; develops systems to gather digital data during testing.
• Studies the data gathered during testing and evaluates the validity of the results.
• Identifies any problems with new products; makes adjustments or recommendations to resolve problems.
• Continues testing and analysis until results are within product requirements and specifications.
• Drafts detailed technical reports to present findings; based on findings, recommends modifications needed to correct production problems.
• Able to assist with performing environmental and functional tests on electrical generators and generator control units.
• Test both air-cooled and oil-cooled systems.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot test failures.
• Work with product design engineers to develop test methods to assure that specification performance requirements are met.
• Write clear and complete test procedures, instructions, and test reports.
• Adheres to safe work practices and contributes to the evolution of the health, safety, and environmental program and culture.
• Travel requirements: travel Up to 25% (general guideline: once per quarter) within U.S/Outside U.S.
• Other duties may be assigned.
• Evening/night hours may be required.
• Extra hours may be required during business peaks, especially at month-end.

The office area is a typical office environment requiring the use of typical office equipment (i.e. computers, phones, etc.) Computer keyboarding, computer monitor and mouse use including reaching forward, grasping, finger and wrist manipulation, and neck bending and turning; near vision is necessary for computer monitor use.
The laboratory area is a testing environment requiring the proper use of PPE and awareness of surroundings. It may be required to use tools, power tools, lifting equipment, working at heights, working in small spaces, and the use of various measurement and inspection tools.
Candidate skills & requirements
Education and/or Experience
• A Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent is required and
A minimum of five (5) years' of related (aerospace) work experience.
• In lieu of a Bachelor's degree, an Associate's degree in Engineering, or equivalent, and
A minimum of seven (7) years' related (aerospace) work experience
• Must be familiar with manufacturing testing requirements
Knowledge/Skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to discuss product flaws in a constructive and positive manner.

• Excellent interpersonal skills.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software to prepare test reports and proposals
Preferred Skills :
• Proficient in LABView.
• Knowledge or FAA Part 21 and Part 145 requirements
• Able to operate a tow motor and/or scissor lift.
• Understanding of aircraft power generation.
• Skilled in the use of Hydraulic Oil and Scavenge Systems.
• Strong Troubleshooting skills.
