We're looking for a Senior Principal Software Development Engineer to join our ZIA Cloud team. You will make ZIA software run in Public Cloud Infrastructure. You will bring strong public cloud infrastructure knowledge, technical expertise in network security, hands-on development experience, and proven leadership capabilities.Reporting to the Senior Director, ZIA Core Engineering, you will:

+ Practice technical leadership in design, development, and optimization of firewall/SWG platforms in Cloud Infrastructure

+ Define and execute the technical roadmap for firewalls/SWG in Cloud Infrastructure, ensuring alignment with business goals

+ Work closely with engineering teams to enhance platform support for virtualized environments.

+ Drive professional development and growth initiatives for team members

What We’re Looking for (Minimum Qualifications)

+ 12+ years of proven experience in designing and implementing networking security software and public clouds infrastructure

+ Deep understanding of VPCs, Subnets, Route Tables, Security Groups, NACLs, Transit Gateway, Elastic Load Balancing (ELB - ALB/NLB), Route 53, Network Firewall WAF or its equivalent in Public Cloud Infrastructure

+ Proven experience in designing how FW/SWG solutions integrate with or extend these native services

+ Performance & Scalability: Proven experience in designing, optimizing, and troubleshooting high-throughput, low-latency network security products

+ Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field

What Will Make You Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications)

+ Knowledge in BSD/Linux operating systems and their application in platform development; experience with Virtualization technologies and with DPDK or similar Kernel bypass techniques

+ Network Security Fundamentals: Mastery of TCP/IP, DNS, Http(s), VPN technologies (IPSec, SSL VPN), NAT, and load balancing

+ Automation & Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Proficiency with Terraform (preferred), AWS CloudFormation, and GCP Deployment Manager for provisioning and managing cloud infrastructure

Zscaler’s salary ranges are benchmarked and are determined by role and level. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations and could be higher or lower based on a multitude of factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

The base salary range listed for this full-time position excludes commission/ bonus/ equity (if applicable) + benefits.

Base Pay Range

$206,500—$295,000 USD
