We’re looking for an experienced Staff Software Engineer to join our IT Cloud Engineering team. **This role requires Top Secret Security Clearance, which must be maintained throughout employment. Candidates must be willing and able to work from a SCIF as part of the team, providing 24x7 coverage, including night and holiday shifts.** Reporting to the Director, Integration and Automation, you will be responsible for:
+ Designing and developing back-end applications and services using Java Stacks and cloud-native technologies
+ Delivering scalable, highly available, and performant solutions in AWS or similar cloud platforms
+ Collaborating with cross-functional teams (business, infrastructure, and engineering) to translate requirements into design, solutions, development, and support
+ Supporting and troubleshooting provisioning, production issues, while isolating application issues (vs up/down stream layers) which can involve engaging the right teams to resolve
+ Collaborating with Federal customers to understand requirements, create secure solutions, and enable delivery aligned with FedRAMP and cloud compliance needs
What We’re Looking for (Minimum Qualifications)
+ 5+ years of programming experience with a strong focus on Java Stacks (Core Java, Spring and Spring Boot)
+ 2+ years of professional experience designing, developing, and deploying applications in AWS or other public cloud environments
+ Hands-on experience with AWS services such as EKS, Lambda, S3, RDS, DynamoDB, and messaging systems like Kafka or SQS
+ U.S. citizenship with active U.S. Top Secret/SCI security clearance
What Will Make You Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications)
+ 3+ years of experience with government certifications like FedRAMP and Impact Level compliance
+ Proficiency with containerization and related tools (e.g., AWS Dev tools, Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD, Python, Node)
+ Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field

Zscaler’s salary ranges are benchmarked and are determined by role and level. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations and could be higher or lower based on a multitude of factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
The base salary range listed for this full-time position excludes commission/ bonus/ equity (if applicable) + benefits.
Base Pay Range
$129,500—$185,000 USD
