    Intermountain Health is hiring a **Resource Pool Nurse Manager** to lead clinical operations and champion excellence in patient care. This leadership role is vital to ensuring safe, efficient, and compassionate nursing services aligned with our mission and values.

     

    About the Role – Resource Pool Nurse Manager

     

    As the Resource Pool Nurse Manager, you’ll report to a Nurse Director and oversee the clinical nursing environment for your assigned unit(s). You’ll play a key role in strategic planning, day-to-day operations, and maintaining high standards of care. This position blends tactical, operational, and strategic responsibilities to ensure optimal patient outcomes and staff engagement.

    Key Responsibilities:

    + **Clinical Leadership:** Champion safe, efficient, and compassionate nursing care aligned with current practice standards.

    + **Collaborative Decision-Making:** Advocate for resources, promote shared governance, and communicate executive-level updates to staff.

    + **Financial Management:** Assist in developing and managing annual budgets, ensuring effective resource utilization and expense control.

    + **Team Engagement:** Model professionalism, foster employee engagement, and maintain a positive work environment.

    + **Staffing & Competency:** Ensure adequate staffing levels, oversee hiring, orientation, retention, and annual competency verification.

    + **Performance Evaluation:** Conduct performance reviews and peer evaluations to maintain high standards.

    + **Regulatory Compliance:** Coordinate adherence to patient safety initiatives and regulatory requirements (Joint Commission, OSHA, CMS, etc.).

    + **Resource Optimization:** Facilitate use of advanced nursing roles and specialty resources.

    + **Patient Experience:** Monitor satisfaction metrics and implement action plans to achieve service excellence.

    + **Physician Partnership:** Collaborate with physicians to meet clinical and operational goals.

    + **Education & Mentorship:** Support staff development, student nurse activities, and community outreach initiatives.

    Minimum Qualifications:

    + Bachelor’s degree in nursing (BSN) from an accredited institution (degree verification required).

    + Current RN license in state of practice; compact licenses must transfer within 60 days.

    + Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

    + Leadership/supervisory experience.

    + Completion of Intermountain Health leadership training within one year.

    + Minimum 2 years of clinical experience.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    + Specialty certification.

    + Demonstrated experience in nursing leadership or oversight.

    Scope:

    + **Level 1 Nurse Manager:** Manages <50 headcount or a department operating Monday–Friday.

    + **Level 2 Nurse Manager – Complex:** Manages >50 headcount or multiple departments operating 24/7.

    + The Peaks region provides oversight for multiple hospitals, including facilities located in **Montana and Colorado** .

    Workload Distribution:

    + **50% Tactical:** Day-to-day operations (staffing, equipment availability).

    + **40% Operational:** Budget management, supply acquisition, performance evaluations.

    + **10% Strategic:** Goal development aligned with Intermountain/Regional Strategic Plan.

    Physical Requirements:

    + Ongoing need for employee to see and read information, labels, assess patient needs, operate monitors, identify equipment and supplies.

    + Frequent interactions with patient care providers, patients, and visitors that require employee to verbally communicate as well as hear and understand spoken information, alarms, needs, and issues quickly and accurately, particularly during emergency situations.

    + Manual dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy. This includes frequent computer use and typing for documenting patient care, accessing needed information, medication preparation, etc.

    + Expected to lift and utilize full range of movement to transfer patients. Will also bend to retrieve, lift, and carry supplies and equipment. Typically includes items of varying weights, up to and including heavy items.

    + Need to walk and assist with transporting/ambulating patients and obtaining and distributing supplies and equipment. This includes pushing/pulling gurneys and portable equipment, including heavy items. Often required to navigate crowded and busy rooms (full of equipment, power cords on the floor, etc.)

    + May be expected to stand in a stationary position for an extended period of time.

    + For roles requiring driving: Expected to drive a vehicle which requires sitting, seeing and reading signs, traffic signals, and other vehicles.

    The hourly range for this position is listed below. Actual hourly rate dependent upon experience.

     

    $50.97 - $78.69
