What You’ll Do:
+ Accurately and efficiently abstracts information from the EHR for multiple protocols. Navigates patient charts and protocol binders collecting data information required for reporting purposes. Ensures accurate data collection, entry and timely submission to the appropriate sponsors. Identifies data discrepancies and errors and amends or corrects data discrepancies in consultation with the investigator and research team.
+ Works with research coordinators and research nurses in acquiring or uploading or shipping radiology scans, medical procedures, tissue, labs, etc. as needed per each individual protocol. Accurately completes appropriate paperwork and ensure required information is sent to the proper destination.
+ Coordinates data entry, data lock, monitoring deadlines for multiple protocols.
+ Assists in maintaining study supplies, lab kits, and storage facilities for clinical research as needed.
+ Accurately and timely enters required information in CTMS.
+ What We’re Looking For:
+ Strong administrative skills, including excellent organization and attention to detail.
+ Prior experience working in a healthcare setting such as lab, phlebotomy, medical assistant, etc.
+ Proficiency with computer applications such as Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
+ Experience working with databases or clinical trial management systems is highly desirable.

This position will be located at the Cancer Institute in Mount Airy, NC.
***This is not a Clinical Research Coordinator Position. The Specialist supports the Clinical Research Team.

Clinical Research Specialist III
No experience required. Prefer previous experience in clinical research or healthcare setting such as Lab, billing, coding, insurance, phlebotomy, pharmacy, physician practices
Minimum 5 years* of clinical or clinical research experience required. 2 years must be in clinical research
Minimum 8 years* of clinical or clinical research experience required. 5 years must be in clinical research. Certification in Clinical Research required.**
* Education may count toward years of experience.
** Accepted certifications in Clinical Research include the Association of Clinical Research Professionals (ACRP), the Society of Clinical Research Associates (SOCRA), Regulatory Affairs Professionals Society (RAPS) or Public Responsibility in Medicine and Research (PRIM&R).
+ Additional Skills (required):
+ Must have exceptional organizational and analytical skills. Attention to detail. Self-motivated and able to work independently. Able to meet multiple deadlines for concurrent projects. Work in a team- oriented setting. Must be proficient in Microsoft Office. Must provide own transportation to clinics, hospitals and associated agencies as required. Manual dexterity, prolonged standing or sitting. Able to lift light to medium weight objects which may be bulky and awkward. Ability to travel to developmental, educational and promotional activities. Physical and mental stamina required to function effectively in an environment with multiple fluctuating priorities. Ability to communicate effectively with individuals of all cultures and levels of authority. Exposure to hazardous materials (study agents, biohazards, pathology specimens).
