    ABOUT THE ROLE

    Under general direction, the Assistant Chief Stationary Engineer supervises and coordinates building maintenance and plant operations. This class differs from Chief Stationary Engineer who is responsible for overall planning, supervision of building operations and maintenance and inspecting the work of Stationary and Utility Engineers and supervises the former.

     

    In this role, you will be embedded with a multi-national technology corporation that operates as a multi-sided platform to provide various on-demand services.

     

    This job is part of the Engineering and Technical Services job function and is responsible for scheduling, assigning, and inspecting the work of Stationary and Utility Engineers, and for the ordering of tools, spare parts, and machinery.

    WHAT YOU'LL DO

    + Follow codes, regulations, government agency, and Company directives related to operations and safety.

    + Manage shift operations, assign work orders, and provide training to coworkers and subcontractors.

    + Review monthly tenant service request summaries to pinpoint and correct recurrent operational problems.

    + Develop a preventive maintenance program for machinery and systems.

    + Inspect systems to ensure operation within normal parameters.

    + Maintain inventory of supplies and tools, ordering necessary materials to complete all tasks.

    + Schedule preventive maintenance and downtime to cut business interruption and inconvenience.

    + Perform repairs, emergency, and preventive maintenance, completing maintenance and repair records as required.

    + Respond timely to emergency situations, requesting extra help as needed.

    + Apply advanced knowledge to seek and develop new, better methods for accomplishing both individual and department objectives.

    + Showcase expertise in own job discipline and in-depth knowledge of other job disciplines within the organization function.

    + Coach others to develop in-depth knowledge and expertise in most or all areas within the function.

    + Lead by example and model behaviors that are consistent with CBRE RISE values.

    + Anticipates potential objections and persuades others, often at senior levels and of divergent interest, to adopt a different point of view.

    + Impact the achievement of customer, operational, project, or service objectives across multi-discipline teams.

    SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

    Supervise engineers and maintenance staff including hiring, training, personnel development, etc. Responsible to plan, implement, coordinate, and supervise all mechanical operations, maintenance, communications, energy management, and personnel development programs for assigned properties.

    WHAT YOU'LL NEED

    To perform this job successfully, an individual should be able to perform each duty satisfactorily.

     

    Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States without the need for visa sponsorship now or in the future.

     

    + High School Diploma, GED, or trade school diploma

    + Minimum of five (5) to eight (8) years of job-related experience

    + In lieu of a diploma, a combination of experience and education will be considered.

    + Prior shift leader or supervisory experience preferred

     

    CERTIFICATES and/or LICENSES

     

    Universal CFC certification is required; Additional certification in one or more of the following is a plus: electrical, mechanical, HVAC/R and refrigeration systems, process controls, mechanical power transmissions, painting, plumbing, carpentry, or engine repair.

     

    OTHER SKILLS and/or ABILITIES

     

    Meet the physical requirements of this role including stooping, standing, walking, climbing stairs/ladders, and the ability to lift/carry heavy loads of 50 lbs. or more.

     

    Ability to exercise judgment based on the analysis of multiple sources of information.

     

    Willingness to take a new perspective on existing solutions.

     

    In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office products. Examples include Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.

     

    Organizational skills with an advanced inquisitive mindset.

     

    Sophisticated math skills. Ability to calculate mildly complex figures such as percentages, fractions, and other financial-related calculations.

    SAFETY

    1. Complete all required and assigned HSE training at a satisfactory level,

    2. Follow all activity policies and procedures, including all HSE-related requirements at all times,

    3. Participate in all HSE-related programs & activities as required, including incident investigations, interviews, auditing, and assessment, etc.

    4. Report any conditions which you feel could result in an accident or injury and / or stop work if required.

    The pay range for this position is subject to an applicable Collective Bargaining Agreement. The negotiated rate for the role is $172,931.00 annually [or $83.14 per hour]. Please refer to the Collective Bargaining Agreement regarding pay scale and benefits.
