    **_JOB SUMMARY:_** Provides entry level, basic technical support of desktop computers, thin clients, applications, and related technology.

    _ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:_

    • Respond to requests and problems including installing, monitoring, diagnosing, repairing, maintaining, and upgrading all PC hardware, software, and equipment to ensure optimal workstation performance.

    • Interact with application software and operating systems to diagnose and resolve unique, non-recurring problems.

    • Assist with the installation, configuration, and ongoing usability of desktop, laptops, MACs, peripheral equipment and software within established standards and guidelines.

    • Troubleshoot trouble tickets to resolve basic technical problems with desktop computing equipment.

    • Troubleshoot basic printer trouble calls.

    • Provide customer assistance using directory services and remote access tools.

    • Assist with hardware troubleshooting on desktop computers, laptops, MACs and thin computers.

    • Adheres to internal controls and reporting structure.

    _MARGINAL OR PERIODIC JOB FUNCTIONS:_

    • Performs related duties as required.

    **REQUIRED EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:** Associates degree or equivalent in related field and no experience required.

    **EQUIPMENT:** Standard office, clinical or hospital computer-based equipment.

    **WORKING ENVIRONMENT/LOCATION OF POSITION:** Standard hospital, clinical and/or office environment.

    **OTHER:** Specific job requirements or physical location of some positions allocated to this classification, may render this position security sensitive, and thereby subject to the provisions of Section 51.215, Texas Education Code.

    *This is a contract position through UTMB HealthCare Systems Staffing (in-house staffing agency for UTMB). There are no benefits associated with this position, with the exception of the 401k retirement plan offered through Healthcare Systems Staffing.*
