Electrical Engineer I will design, develop, and maintain electrical systems in a manufacturing environment, while ensuring compliance with safety regulations.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
+ Assist with the design, programming, and testing of new and existing PLC systems under the guidance of senior engineers.
+ Help maintain and troubleshoot PLC-controlled equipment, HMI, and SCADA systems in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
+ Work with the PSM team to apply process safety principles to electrical and control system designs and modifications.
+ Develop, write, and maintain detailed troubleshooting documents, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and other technical documentation for electrical and control systems.
+ Collaborate with maintenance, operations, and engineering teams to diagnose and resolve equipment issues in a timely manner.
+ Participate in Process Hazard Analysis (PHA) and other safety reviews, providing electrical and controls-related input.
+ Conduct equipment inspections and testing to ensure compliance with quality standards and system reliability.
+ Review and redline electrical drawings, schematics, and other control system documentation.
+ Assist with on-site commissioning and startup of new or modified electrical and control systems.
+ Receive technical guidance and supervision on all assignments from a senior engineer.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
+ Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or equivalent work experience.
+ 0-2 years of experience, previous internships, apprenticeship or participation in Co-op electrical engineering program.
WHAT WE VALUE
+ Proficiency in electrical CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD Electrical, EPLAN).
+ Knowledge of industrial automation, including PLCs, HMIs, and Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs).
+ Knowledge of electrical power distribution systems, instrumentation, and control networks.
+ Familiarity with industry codes and standards, such as NEC, NFPA, and IEEE.
+ Strong analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills.
+ Excellent communication skills for collaborating with technical and non-technical teams.
