    What you’ll need to succeed as a Lead Engineer, Technology Network at XPO

    Minimum qualifications:

    + Bachelor's degree or equivalent related work or military experience

    + 6 years of experience in hands-on design, architecture, and implementation experience.

    + Experience with Network programmability using Ansible, Python, and multiple different APIs

    + Expert in understanding and interpreting system and network performance and analytical data.

    + Expert knowledge of different Load Balancer technologies including F5 and Netscaler

    Preferred qualifications:

    + 8+ years of hands-on design, architecture, and implementation experience.

    + Expert in global routing and core switching using all common routing protocols (BGP, EIGRP, OSPF)

    + Expert in Cisco technologies including but not limited to Nexus (all versions), ASR, ISR, FirePower, etc.

    + Expert in the design and implementation of LAN/WAN/WLAN

    + Expert in designing and implementing next-generation virtual data-center network infrastructure

    + Expert in Firewall design, implementation and management including Cisco FirePower and Palo Alto

    + Expert in all areas of Network Security, including but not limited to IPS and threat management

    + Expert at designing and building global network services architecture including NTP, DNS and DHCP

    + Experience with designing, architecting and implementing large SD-WAN environments

    + Experience with designing end-to-end connectivity between private cloud and public cloud networks

    + Proven track record of improving network stability, uptime, optimization and security.

    + Experience building and managing carrier backbone networks a plus

    + Possess a can-do attitude, strong work ethic, integrity, and exceptional attention to detail

    What you’ll do on a typical day:

    + Technical Leadership

    + Maintain the technical roadmap for network infrastructure aligned with business and security goals

    + Serves as the highest level escalation pont for complex network design and troubleshooting .

    + Review and approve network design documents, configurations, and implementation plans.

    + Both enforces and champions best practices for network performance, scalability, and resilience.

    + Leads the design of enterprise network solutions across data centers, cloud environments, and branch offices.

    + Evaluates and recommends technologies, tools, and vendors to improve network reliability and efficiency.

    + Develops detailed network architecture documentation, including topology diagrams and standards.

    + Acts as a technical lead on large-scale network projects and migrations

    + Collaborates with cross-functional teams (security, systems, cloud, applications) to ensure cohesive infrastructure design.

    + Oversees the technical quality of project deliverables and ensures adherence to network standards.

    + Ensure Copmliance with network security and regulatory requirements.

    + Mentorship & Knowledge Sharing

    + Provides technical coahing, peer reviews, and training for Senior and mid-level network engineers.

    + Establish and maintain internal documentation and design templates.

    + Assist in promoting a culture of continuous learning, collaboroation, and technical excellence within the team.
