    Job Summary and Responsibilities

     

    PRN Monday - Friday (8:00am - 5:00pm)

     

    Designs accurate treatment plans by means of computer and/or manual computation that delivers prescribed

     

    radiation doses as prescribed by the treating radiation oncologist.

     

    Preforms, verifies and documents calculations for the delivery of the prescribed dose and subsequent

     

    documentation in patient files and verifies accuracy of calculations using guidelines established by the medical

     

    physicist.

     

    Assists in the simulation process to ensure optimal patient position, immobilization and adequate scans for

     

    treatment planning.

     

    Participates with aspects of high and low dose brachytherapy procedures that include (but not limited to)

     

    implanting of brachytherapy devices, planning, calculations, and quality assurance measures in compliance with

     

    hospital, state and federal regulations.

     

    Assists in quality improvement and quality assurance programs/procedures done by the medical physicist to

     

    ensure the accuracy and safety of treatments.

     

    Participates in continuing education of treatment planning techniques, current advances in medical dosimetry

     

    and the clinical development and implementation of new therapy techniques in the department.

     

    Teaches applied aspects of medical dosimetry to students as assigned.

    Job Requirements

    Bachelors Of Science in closely related field

     

    Certified Medical Dosimetrist (CMD)

     

    Registered Technologist Radiation Therapy (RTT)

     

    Basic Life Support - CPR (BLS-CPR)

    Pay Range

    $47.29 - $70.35 /hour
