What to expect:
Industrial Engineer I is responsible for supporting and improving warehouse and inventory operations through data analysis, process optimization, and project execution. This role focuses on reducing off-site storage costs, maximizing facility space utilization, and streamlining inventory processes. The incumbent will apply engineering principles and analytical tools to implement strategic projects and drive operational efficiency throughout the distribution center.
+ Analyze inventory levels and storage patterns to identify opportunities for cost savings and reduction of off-site storage.
+ Evaluate current warehouse layouts and storage practices; design and implement improvements using industrial engineering methodologies (e.g., process mapping, time studies, layout redesign).
+ Lead and support projects to optimize material flow, increase facility capacity, and reduce operational expenses.
+ Monitor and streamline the RTV (Return to Vendor) process, identifying bottlenecks and implementing process improvements for efficient value recovery.
+ Develop project plans, timelines, and deliverables for warehouse optimization initiatives.
+ Collaborate with Warehouse, Quality, Finance, Procurement and Operations teams to align inventory management and strategies with business objectives.
+ Maintain and publish metrics on storage costs, space utilization, RTV performance, and project results.
+ Train team members on new procedures and process changes resulting from improvement projects.
+ Apply Lean, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies to drive process efficiency.
+ Communicate project status, findings, and recommendations to stakeholders at all levels.
What we expect:
+ Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
+ Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and warehouse management systems (e.g., Oracle).
+ Knowledge of industrial engineering principles, project management, and process improvement methodologies (Lean, Six Sigma, etc.).
+ Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
+ Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
+ Team-oriented and able to work independently.
+ Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
Education & Experience:
+ Associates or Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Operations, or related field.
+ Minimum 1–3 years of experience in industrial engineering, warehouse operations, or supply chain analytics.
+ Experience supporting or leading process improvement projects in a distribution or manufacturing environment is preferred.
The annualized base salary range for this role is $53,900 to $75,000 and is bonus eligible. Final compensation packages will ultimately depend on factors including relevant experience, skillset, knowledge, geography, education, business needs and market demand.
