Our client, a leading organization in the technology and cloud security sector, is seeking a Software Development Engineer to join their team. As a Software Development Engineer, you will be part of the Security and Compliance team supporting cloud-based services hosted in Azure and Power Platform. The ideal candidate will have strong technical expertise, excellent communication skills, proactive attitude, and a collaborative mindset, which will align successfully in the organization.

Pay Range: $59.38 - $65.33 on Experis W2 (Benefits and PTO)
What's the Job?
+ Conduct detailed security and risk assessments for Azure and Power Platform services
+ Document and communicate risks in the Risk Register, ensuring traceability to remediation actions
+ Collaborate effectively with engineering teams to track, mitigate, and close risks
+ Provide technical guidance and hands-on remediation support, including dedicated office hours
+ Analyze and present compliance and security telemetry using Azure Data Explorer (Kusto)
Top 3 Must-Have Hard Skills
1) Cloud Security Engineering & Azure Automation — 5+ years
Deep hands-on experience developing and securing cloud solutions in Microsoft Azure, including the use of PowerShell, Python, ARM/Bicep, or Azure CLI for automation. Must understand Azure security architecture, RBAC, networking, and identity controls, and be capable of integrating security guardrails within CI/CD pipelines.
2) Software Development & Secure Coding Practices — 5+ years
Strong software engineering background with the ability to write, review, and secure code in languages such as C#, Python, or TypeScript. Experience performing secure code reviews, applying static/dynamic analysis tools (SAST/DAST), and remediating vulnerabilities. Should demonstrate the ability to design scalable, secure solutions while balancing performance and maintainability.
3) Security Risk Assessment & Compliance Frameworks — 3+ years
Proven experience conducting threat modeling, risk analysis, and remediation tracking for enterprise cloud services. Familiarity with NIST CSF, ISO 27001, or SOC 2 frameworks and practical experience documenting risks, mapping to controls, and driving closure through engineering collaboration. Ability to communicate technical findings clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
What's Needed?
+ Extensive experience developing and securing solutions in Microsoft Azure, including automation using PowerShell, Python, ARM/Bicep, or Azure CLI
+ Proven software engineering background with skills in C#, Python, or TypeScript
+ Hands-on experience conducting threat modeling, risk analysis, and remediation tracking for enterprise-scale cloud services
+ Strong understanding of Azure security architecture, identity, networking, and data protection controls
+ Required certifications such as CISSP or equivalent; preferred certifications include Microsoft Certified: Azure Security Engineer Associate
