    Summary:

    The Payroll Specialist is responsible for the timely payroll process for semi-monthly and off-cycle payrolls. Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, and internal company policies. Assisting with general accounting and HR duties.

    Detailed Description:

    Prepare and maintain accurate records and reports of payroll transactions ensuring confidentiality.

     

    Maintain and update the 401K schedule for year-end audit.

     

    Collaborate with Human Resources team to resolve employee pay issues.

     

    Communicate effectively with all employees and provide quality customer service while resolving issues.

     

    Assist with the development and implementation of payroll procedures and policies.

     

    Assist with quarterly and year-end payroll processes including year-end reconciliation and reporting.

    Position Requirements:

    Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

    Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

     

    Self-driven and motivated.

     

    Ability to work well in a team environment, as well as independently with minimal or no supervision.

     

    Strong ability to prioritize deadlines and manage sense of urgency escalation.

    Physical Requirements:

    + Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

    + Must be able to lift up to 15 lbs. unassisted.

     

    Required Education and Experience

     

    High school diploma or GED equivalent required.

     

    Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Business Administration, Human Resources, or related field preferred.

     

    Experience with payroll functions including preparation, reconciling, internal control, and payroll tax.

     

    At least 2 years of related experience with ADP Workforce is required.

     

    Proficient in the use of MS Office Suite, including Word and Microsoft Teams. Advanced Excel skills are required.

     

    Government contracting experience.

     

    Prior experience with ERP systems, Deltek Costpoint is a plus.

     

    Additional Eligibility Qualifications

     

    Ability to pass a background investigation and drug screen

     

    To conform to U.S. Government International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) you must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident of the U.S., protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3), or eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State.
