    Licensing Program Specialist

    About the Agency : The Division of Professional and Occupational Licenses (DOPL) provides consumer protection and public safety through its regulation of more than 250,000 licensees within more than 44 Boards and Commissions here in the great State of Idaho.

     

    This Licensing Program Specialist position is a great opportunity for a professional who's looking to provide consumer protection and public safety for all Idahoans.

    Example of Duties:

    This is a supervisor position overseeing licensing staff who support the Occupational Licensing Bureau and boards.

     

    Leadership

     

    + Accomplishes DOPL objectives by supervising, coaching, and developing staff.

    + Recruits, selects, orients, and trains staff while developing personal growth opportunities.

    + Maintains an efficient operation by developing schedules, assigning and monitoring work, gathering resources, implementing productivity standards, resolving operations problems, maintaining reference manuals, and implementing new procedures.

    + Addresses escalated customer concerns.

    + Contributes to team effort by performing licensing duties, as needed.

     

    Licensing

     

    + Provide guidance and assistance to internal and external customers regarding program laws, rules, regulations, policies, and procedures.

    + Interpret and recommend changes in licensing law, rules, and procedures.

    + Design and edit licensing forms.

    + Provide specialized information pertaining to agency programs and services.

    + Assist applicants in submitting documentation and requests for special consideration.

    + Prepare applications for counsel and board review.

    + Review and process applications for licensure

    + Work out of a licensing phone queue.

    + Contribute to drafting language relating to licensure.

    + Attend board meetings for licensing boards.

    + Assists the Licensing Manager, Executive Officer, and Board Counsel with rules and statute drafting and editing.

    Minimum Qualifications:

    + Some knowledge of management practices; program or project planning and implementation

    + Experience developing and evaluating policies and procedures

    Minimum Qualification Specialties:

    + Reviewing documents for accuracy, completeness, and compliance

    + Good knowledge of state and federal laws and regulations regarding the confidentiality and safeguarding of citizen and governmental information.

    + Using computer systems, software, and databases for information entry and retrieval

    Preferred Qualifications:

    + Supervising staff; providing customer service; leading or facilitating teams or groups

    + Compiling and analyzing information and/or data and writing reports and/or correspondence in a work setting

    + Experience developing and evaluating policies, procedures, training, and presentation materials
