Are you passionate about the natural world and eager to gain hands-on experience in the field? Verdantas is offering an exciting Field Ecology Internship at our Tampa East location in central Florida, where you’ll work alongside a team of dedicated Ecologists, Environmental Scientists, and Project Managers. This is your chance to explore diverse ecosystems, contribute to meaningful environmental projects, and develop practical skills that will set you apart in your career.
What You'll Do:
+ Assist field teams with collecting data
+ Assist in wetland vegetation monitoring, wetland delineations, listed species surveys, and gopher tortoise relocations
+ Assist in the development of project deliverables
What You'll Bring:
+ Currently pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in a relevant natural science field such as Ecology, Environmental Science, Biology, Botany, etc.
+ Working knowledge of the ecosystems in the southeastern United States
+ Identification of plants with a focus on wetland species and wildlife listed by the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission and the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service
+ Available at least 1 day a week for a minimum of 8hrs
+ Availability to work irregular working hours on scheduled (ex. early mornings, long or short days)
+ Traversing through wetlands and/or unfavorable conditions ·
+ Must be able to carry up to 50 lbs. regularly and up to 80 lbs. occasionally with or without an accommodation, sometimes over substantial distances
Salary Range:
22.00 - 25.00
