Job Title: Clinical Lab Analyst
Job Description
The Clinical Lab Analyst is responsible for collecting and processing clinical specimens such as blood according to test requests. The role involves operating, calibrating, and maintaining laboratory equipment, as well as identifying and reporting defects. The analyst will perform laboratory tests, analyze results, and produce diagnostic reports while applying quality control techniques to ensure accuracy and reliability.
Responsibilities
+ Collect and process clinical specimens (e.g., blood) as per test requests.
+ Operate, calibrate, and maintain laboratory equipment; identify and report defects.
+ Perform laboratory tests, analyze results, and produce diagnostic reports.
+ Apply quality control techniques to ensure accuracy and reliability of equipment and test results.
+ Follow all relevant policies, regulations, and ethical standards, including HIPAA.
+ Educate others on equipment safety, operating procedures, and laboratory best practices.
+ Address issues affecting analytical results and ensure compliance with LPQA processes.
+ Manage secure access to laboratory results and support interoperability between health records and lab systems.
+ Utilize LRR technologies (e.g., EDI) and troubleshoot data exchange issues like confidentiality.
Essential Skills
+ Bachelor's Degree in Biology, Microbiology, Biochemistry, or other life sciences.
+ Must meet CLIA requirements for high complexity testing.
+ Proficiency in laboratory techniques such as pipetting, microscopy, and bacteria culture
Work Environment
The position requires working Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, with rotating weekends and holiday work as needed.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Iowa City, IA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $20.00/hr.
