    Job Title: Financial Analyst

    Job Description

    This position is responsible for analyzing the business, identifying issues, and recommending solutions that improve the business unit's budget, financial, or operational performance. The role involves preparing monthly reports, explaining budget variances, and providing management with insights to enhance resource allocation and identify cost savings opportunities.

    Responsibilities

    + Prepare monthly actual/budget and projection reports.

    + Provide budget variance explanations and summary reports to management.

    + Prepare documentation for monthly budget meetings and prioritize data collection and revision of the budget and projections.

    + Conduct budget and financial research, analysis, planning, preparation, and monitoring.

    + Provide budgeting and accounting services and training for clients.

    + Ensure accurate accounting and provide general accounting services.

    + Support the business unit in meeting all budget and cost targets.

    + Offer guidance and data for the development of financial models across departments.

    + Maintain high visibility of compliance and perform required control activities and audits.

    + Lead and manage special projects as required.

    + Establish and maintain effective relationships and communications with business unit and corporate partners.

    Essential Skills

    + 5 - 10 years of experience as a Finance Analyst.

    + Proficiency in spreadsheets, databases, MS Office, and financial software applications.

    + Hands-on experience with financial analysis.

    + Outstanding presentation, reporting, and communication skills.

    + Knowledge of financial projecting, corporate finance, and information analysis.

     

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

     

    + Experience with financial forecasting and budgeting.

    + Ability to consolidate and analyze financial data, including budgets and income statement forecasts.

    + Skill in providing creative alternatives and recommendations to improve financial performance.

    + Competence in structuring sophisticated reports on financial status and risks.

    + Capability to perform business studies on past, future, and comparative performance and develop forecast models.

     

    Job Type & Location

     

    This is a Contract position based out of Birmingham, AL.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $26.00 - $28.00/hr.
