Job Title: Sr Stress Analysis Engineer
Job Description
The Sr Stress Analysis Engineer will work within the Piping & Analysis team, responsible for analyzing nuclear safety-related piping and supports to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements. The focus will be on the Small Modular Reactor (SMR) BWRX-300, collaborating closely with the Systems Design, Civil Structural Design, Reactor Design, and Integrated Plants Design teams.
Responsibilities
+ Understand, define, and analyze safety-related nuclear piping to meet industry standards and regulatory requirements.
+ Utilize knowledge and experience to deliver outcomes to customers.
+ Work cooperatively to develop approaches for solving technical issues.
+ Communicate potential solutions and work status effectively.
+ Provide leadership and technical direction to personnel and projects.
+ Support procurement and subcontract activities for new plant projects.
+ Represent the organization at industry forums and conferences.
+ Maintain and develop technical design procedures for piping and pipe support analysis.
+ Procure, maintain, and facilitate the use of analysis software.
Essential Skills
+ Minimum bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Structural Engineering (or other related disciplines based on experience).
+ Minimum 8 years of experience in piping analysis.
+ Nuclear industry knowledge and experience.
+ Working knowledge and experience with Section III analysis, including subsections NB, NC, ND, and B31.1.
+ Section III Class 1 Fatigue design experience.
+ Experience with performing High Energy Line Break Analysis.
+ Proficiency in piping and pipe support analysis software like PIPESTRESS, AutoPIPE, Caesar, GT STRUDL.
+ US PE or EIT in training certificate or Canadian P Eng.
+ Strong communication skills for articulating technical topics.
+ Strong problem-solving abilities and analytical skills.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Experience in new plant projects such as NuScale, AP1000.
+ Flexibility in years of experience, ideally 3-5 years minimum.
+ Class 1 (NB) experience is highly preferred.
+ Experience in Class 2 and Class 3 (NC/ND) with Section 3.
+ Strong data analysis capabilities and ability to create small automation scripts.
+ Self-starter with initiative and ability to work effectively in a collaborative environment.
Work Environment
This position offers a fully remote work environment with minimal travel required.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract position based out of Wilmington, NC.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $80.00 - $95.00/hr.
